Saumya Tiwari

Graduate Research Associate

Saumya earned her bachelor’s degree in biotechnology from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in 2013. She is interested in developing rapid and label-free diagnostic techniques for cancer using IR imaging. Her major work involves using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy data to develop machine learning algorithms for determination of disease prognosis.

She is also interested in the use of three-dimensional cell culture models for studying major cellular biochemical changes occurring in cancer cells. She is currently working on determining the relation of gene expression data with IR imaging data and how it can be used to understand the development of disease.
